The Fruit Plus Gift Basket pairs fresh seasonal fruit with Castello brie, artisan crackers, cookies and chocolate truffles, arranged in a reusable willow basket. It is packed the day it is sent, and the fruit is chosen that morning.

It is also chosen as a sympathy gift — fresh fruit is a quiet, universally welcome gesture. The fruit selection varies with the season and may include apples, pears, kiwi, bananas, clementines, mangoes or grapes. If there is a fruit the recipient particularly likes or cannot eat, leave a note at checkout and we will work around it.

How it is made

Basket Revolution is a family business, working in British Columbia since 2002. The people who design the baskets are the people who pack them. Nothing is pre-assembled and nothing is outsourced — each basket is put together after the order arrives, which is what makes it possible to choose the fruit on the day.

Delivery

Orders placed before 11:00 AM Pacific Time, Monday to Friday, are dispatched the same business day. This basket travels by courier with tracking across British Columbia and Canada, and can be hand-delivered in our local area. Delivery areas, rates and transit times are on our delivery page.

For destinations further from our studio we favour firmer fruit — apples and pears travel well, ripe mangoes do not. On the longest routes some fruit may be replaced with shelf-stable gourmet items so that the basket arrives looking as it should.

Fruit, freshness and substitutions

Fruit varieties and gourmet items vary with the season and with what arrives fresh that week. Where a substitution is necessary we choose an item of equal or greater value, keeping the balance and presentation of the gift intact.

Which fruit is in the basket?

It varies with the season and with what is fresh that week — usually a mix of apples, pears, kiwi, bananas, clementines, mangoes or grapes. We choose the fruit the morning the basket is packed rather than working from a fixed list, which is why the contents change through the year.

Can a fruit basket be delivered the same day in Vancouver?

Same-day hand delivery is available in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows for orders placed before 11:00 AM Pacific Time, Monday to Friday. Elsewhere in Metro Vancouver the basket is dispatched the same day and delivered by courier, usually the next business day. Delivery rates are on our delivery page.

How long will the fruit stay fresh?

Fruit is selected at the point of ripeness suited to the delivery date, so it is ready to eat on arrival or within a day or two. We recommend refrigerating the brie once the basket is opened, and eating the softer fruit first.

Can you send a fruit basket outside Metro Vancouver?

Yes, by courier with tracking. For longer routes we choose firmer varieties that travel well, and on the longest journeys we may substitute part of the fruit with shelf-stable gourmet items of equal or greater value so the basket arrives in good condition.

Can you leave out the cheese, or make it dairy-free?

Yes, at no extra charge. Leave a note at checkout for dairy-free, gluten-free or nut-free preferences and we will substitute by hand before the basket is wrapped. If you are unsure what the recipient can eat, write to us before ordering.
