This is a gift for a couple — a birthday, an anniversary, an engagement — and it arrives ready to use. The willow basket and the picnic towel stay with the recipient, so the gift outlasts the food and gives the afternoon somewhere to happen: a bench in the park, a blanket in the garden, a patio table after work.

A complete picnic, not just a gift basket
Most picnic gift baskets arrive in a cardboard box. This one arrives in a fitted willow basket with two plates, two glasses, cutlery, a wine corkscrew and a cotton or bamboo towel — everything the recipient needs to walk out the door and sit down somewhere, without bringing a single thing from home. The basket and its fittings are reusable and the towel is theirs to keep, so the gift has a second life long after the cheese and chocolate are finished.
Nothing is pre-assembled. Each basket is put together after the order arrives, which is how the fruit is chosen fresh for that day and the wine can be swapped for Prosecco or something non-alcoholic without rebuilding the whole arrangement.
Delivery
Orders placed before 11:00 AM Pacific Time, Monday to Friday, are dispatched the same business day. This basket travels by courier with tracking across British Columbia and Canada, and can be hand-delivered in our local area. Delivery areas and rates are listed on our delivery page.
Gifts containing liquor are delivered within British Columbia only, to an adult aged 19 or over. For recipients outside BC, we substitute a non-alcoholic sparkling beverage or natural lemonade — leave a note at checkout and we will confirm before dispatch.
For longer-distance courier deliveries, the fruit selection may be adjusted to include firmer varieties such as apples and pears, which travel better. Where a longer route would put the fruit at risk, part of it is replaced with shelf-stable gourmet items of equal or greater value.

Can I choose red or white wine? Yes. Both are British Columbia VQA wines. Select red or white at checkout. If you would prefer sparkling wine, Prosecco, a non-alcoholic sparkling beverage, mineral water or natural lemonade instead, leave a note with your order and we will make the substitution before packing.
What stays with the recipient after the picnic? Everything except the food. The willow basket comes fitted with two plates, two glasses, cutlery and a wine corkscrew, and the picnic towel is included — all of it stays with the recipient. Towels are cotton or bamboo and the pattern varies with what we have in the studio, so no two baskets look quite the same.
Can this basket be sent outside British Columbia? The food and the basket can be sent anywhere in Canada by courier. The wine cannot leave BC. For recipients outside British Columbia we substitute a non-alcoholic sparkling beverage or natural lemonade and ship the basket by courier — leave a note at checkout and we will confirm before dispatch.
What happens to the fresh fruit on a longer delivery? For destinations further from our studio we choose firmer fruit such as apples and pears, which travel well. Where a longer route would put the fruit at risk, we replace part of it with shelf-stable gourmet items of equal or greater value, so the basket arrives looking and tasting as it should.
Can you adjust the basket for dietary needs? Yes, at no extra cost. Leave a note at checkout for vegetarian, gluten-free or alcohol-free preferences and we will substitute by hand before the basket is packed.
